Handmade Ties

Sorry, no link for these. I just made a practice one using ties that fit each of them and went from there.  But there are lots of tie ideas out there, like here.

Double Jogger!!!

For the past few weeks, I have been watching these cuties a few times a week.
Two two-year-olds and two one-year-olds can be a little much at times, as I am sure you can imagine.
But as a result I am the THRILLED owner of this beauty:
I really love this town (I can say that now that it is not winter anymore.)  I think I would be happy to live here forever.  There are so many old houses here, and I think they are so enchanting.  Here are a few shots of our adventures on our first drive out with my new "baby."
On the way home, we stopped at the University Dairy Store.  Bug had his first Root beer float with Dad, and Bear shared icecream with me.  He ate most of it....rigggght.

Grad Party

Three of our friends on the street are graduating next week, so we had a party and I got to practice some of the new things I have been learning in my cake class!
Buttercream is sooo much easier than fondant...and cheaper too.  I really don't like the taste of the Wilton buttercream, but it is perfect for decorating with so I combined it with some store bought cream cheese frosting to cover the cake and it tasted TONS better.
If you don't know anything about Husker football, then you won't get the "Blackshirts" on the side of the cake. Bondy and I have season tickets for the games next year!!! Sellout crowd since 1962.
We are going to miss you guys! It has been such a fun year.

Crayon Roll

Here is a crayon roll I made for Bug using the tutorial found at Skip to My Lou. Okay, so I actually didn't use the pattern because I despise patterns unless absolutely necessary, but here's the link if you're a pattern fan.

Garage Sale=Zoo Pass

We had a garage sale with some friends on our street a couple of weekends ago, and decided to use our profits for an Annual Zoo Pass. The weather was perfect and the boys were happy. Spending time with Daddy is the best.

Unsolicited Advice

If anyone is looking for a good tracker for their blog, I recommend Site Meter. You can use a free version and it tracks your visitors, how many times a day they visit, and for how long.

The Rainbow Cake

Here is the result of my first butter cream cake decorating class. We didn't have a choice on how to decorate, so don't judge. :) And please excuse the "5 year old handwriting." My real writing doesn't look much different. I can't wait to learn how to do more. I definitely recommend a hobby with an edible outcome. We used the cake to celebrate our friend, Chandra's, Birthday.

Bug ate all of the frosting and no cake, Bear commandeered my fork ate whatever he could get in his mouth as quickly as possible.

Hangin with my PEEPS

Easter was last weeks news, but I didn't get around to it then.
Here are our PEEPS inspired by Made.

I heart the dentist.

Maybe it's the bright florescent lights, the gritty toothpaste, the sharp metal picks scraping against my teeth...
or maybe it's the fact that I get to recline in a soft chair with my eyes closed while my boys are happily playing at home with Daddy. Either way, it makes me happy.

Easter and Conference Weekend

This was one of the best weekends. The weather was beautiful. Bond was home with us every day, all day. We were able to enjoy two days worth of General Conference, which was very uplifting and inspiring. And we celebrated Easter with our little family and a few friends. I have LOVED teaching Bug about the Resurrection over the past couple of weeks. Spring time is the greatest.

Friday we started out by dying eggs with some friends.
Then we made sugar cookies for our neighbors made from a great recipe that my sister gave me. Check out her perfectly pretty V-day cookies.
Enjoying a picnic lunch of egg salad sandwiches (and sugar cookies) in between Saturday conference sessions.

Making Tomb Buns with Bug as we talked about the Resurrection. Each bun has a marshmallow wrapped inside that is coated in butter, cinnamon, and sugar. When it is cooked the marshmellow disappears and leaves an empty center, like the empty tomb. Bug and I had so much fun together and I think he learned a lot. (If you ever try them, put a pan on the bottom rack to catch the drippings. We now have a very sticky mess in the bottom of our oven.) Good thing I like the smell of roasted (burnt) marshmallows. :)

The "empty tomb bun."

And last but not least, EASTER BASKETS...YIPEE!
