California...Knows How to Party

Freshman year at BYU was for sure one of the best years of my "single life".  I made five life long best friends and memories that I can't help but laugh at the thought of.  Earlier this month the last of our group of 6, got married.  (Phirf is missing bc she had a baby a week before the wedding.)
I was able to fly kid free (pump in tow) to Oakland to see Bekah sealed to Peter and spend the weekend with some of my very favorite people.

I also got to hang out with two of my best childhood friends from Tennessee.   These two girls helped shape who I am and I love that I got to spend time with them.
Bekah was constantly swarmed by her little nieces.

 Babes with their babies.

Bekah is famous for her mad dancing skills and we were not the leas bit surprised when they broke free from their couples slow dance to cut a rug for us all.  Loved it. :)

Thanks for the excuse for a much needed girl's weekend, Beks!

We Love our Zoo

I am already going to miss our little zoo when we move next summer.  It is the perfect size for my kids and we all enjoy going there.
Feeding the goats, llamas, and camels are one of their favorite things to do there.

If you look closely you can see a peacock running into the bushes to hide from Bug.
So the next time we found it, Bug ran beside it while he posed for a picture for me.  Haha! Can you tell he is trained for pictures?

The other favorite thing at the zoo is Leo the Lion.  He sucks paper into his mouth and it never gets old for them.

Belated Birthday Post

I never got around to posting about Bug's actual Birthday.  So even though it was almost 2 months ago, here goes.
Before church he opened a gift from Grammy and Pops.
He sat at the table for about two hours assembling it, getting help every so often along the way.
I only make jello when the kids are sick and need extra fluids, and Bug has requested it several times.  I decided we could make a jello "cake" for his day of celebration.
He got a Lego Heroica Game from Mommy and Daddy.  I love how Bear is cheering about it in this picture...
And licking his lips about this next gift.
Now on to more recent event postings.

Let the Homeschooling Games Begin

I feel like I have not had time for blogging lately and need to play some major catch-up.  The main reason I blog is to have my pictures and memories saved in an organized fashion somewhere other than my hard drive until I can get them into digital scrapbooks.  That, and the fact that I love reading and keeping up with my family and friends through their blogs.

The main event that has taken place follows:
Homeschool! I have been interested in homeschooling our kids even before they were born, but never really knew if it would happen.  This week it did!  We are three days in and so far so good.  Bug is thrilled and wakes me up as soon as he can to get us going for the day.

Bear starts preschool twice a week after Labor Day.  He has been joining us for a lot of our homeschooling endeavors, so I think he will also learn a great deal along the way.
Belle is crawling all over the place these days.  She couldn't be happier about it.  She is the smiliest baby!  It is so refreshing to have a smile from her at pretty much any time.

Omaha Family Field Trip

Winter Quarter's Mormon Trail Center and Temple

Ate here for lunch AND dinner, as seen on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

The Kanesville Tabernacle where we watched a pioneer musical.  It was exceptional and Bug was totally enthralled.  Bear was exhausted and fell asleep half way through.

9 months

At her nine month check up Belle weighed in at 15 pounds 2 ounces (7%).
She is 26.5 inches tall (25%).
In the past month she has learned how to sit up on her own, army crawl, and get from sitting to crawling position.
She is trying cream of wheat for the first time in these pictures.
