He Did It!

He finally started walking today as we were moving things into the new house!  He is so proud of himself and just kept getting better at it all day.  It is always breathtaking to watch your children learn new things.
(This is his favorite face as of late.)
Big brother is pretty proud too.

Cookies Anyone?

Don't hate me for letting him eat raw eggs.  It doesn't happen very often.

Obsessed with the following:

As soon as we walk out the door, Bear is squirming to get to his bike.  He discovered a hill to the side of our house and heads right for it. I didn't know a 14 month old could do this, but his steering ability is incredible.
Daredevil.

Rainbow Milk

I have been wanting to try this "experiment" with Bug for awhile now, and finally felt like he would enjoy it without making too much of a mess.  We started with three milk colors: Red, Yellow, and Blue (I used pink because my red food coloring was all gone).  Then we discussed how other colors (orange, green, and purple) are made.  He loved pouring and mixing them together.

A TUBA

Growing up, my family somehow came up with the term bingo, for passing gas.  I introduced it to my second graders, they thought it was hilarious, and they all used it in the classroom as opposed to the alternatives.  Bondy has also adopted it, and I am pretty sure Bug is unaware that there is any other term.  When I was putting him to sleep tonight he ripped a long low one.  We both laughed and I said, "Was that a big bingo or what?!"
His response, "No, a tuba."

WHAT? Has he even heard what a tuba sounds like? Obviously so, because it was a pretty good comparison.
Awesome....seriously, it made my night.

Neighborhood Field Trip #2: The Tractor Museum

It's nice to be within walking distance of so many fun things for the kids (for a couple more weeks at least, we're renting a house!).  We joined our neighbors (who we will dearly miss) for some fun at the tractor test track and museum, followed by our ice cream at the Dairy Store.
Both boys thoroughly enjoyed the tractor "rides".
This is serious business folks, no messin' around!

14 month-old Bear

It's been awhile since I have documented about Bear and he has been changing and growing up so much the past month or so.  Here's what's new:
Lately when he is pooping I pat his bum and say, "Oh, are you going poo-poo?" And yesterday he told me all on his own! He was standing at the couch and started grunting, then patted his hip and said to me, "poo-poo."  He is so smart. :)
New Words: Bubble, Balloon (boon), Bus (Bu! Bu! as he points out the window at a school bus on the street),  Uh-oh, cheese (chzzzz).
Likes: riding bikes, crawling into my lap with a book (an animal book that is. any other book just won't do)
Passions: Squirrels, Birds, and Dogs  (He could watch them out the window and chase them ALL day)
He is strong willed and determined to get what he wants.
Still not walking, but sooo close.  Bug walked at 14.5 months so Bear has another week or two.
He is such a cuddler and I adore that about him. Definitely a Momma's boy and I can't get enough of him either.

Today is My Favorite Holiday

Bug as he ran into the house last night, "Mommy, we got a special surprise for you!  It's a flower.  Open it! Open it! It's so pretty."
I love you boys and am so happy to be your Mommy.
My Bondy as he placed this feast on the table: "I cooked this special meal for you! Eat it, Eat it. It will be so yummy!"
JK Bond.  Thanks for the BEST Mother's day meal.  I love you and am so happy to be your wife.
