Farm Beginnings

The animals have begun their arrival at the farm.  My dad is raising rabbits and we got 41 chicks in the mail last week.  Ten of them are  laying hens and the other 31 will be meat birds.  They currently live in our sunroom until they reach 3 weeks of age.  At that point they will be old and big enough to move outside.

Swim Team

Bug started swimming with a team in August.  He has conquered major fears and is thriving and enjoying it.

Cousins continued

My sister, her husband and their three girls came out to visit last month.  It was to fun to catch up and spend time together.

The Karate Kid

I am attempting my first post from my phone. We will see how it goes...
Bear requested taking karate class.  He is so used to watching his brother do all the activities that I felt more than happy to get him involved with something of his very own.    Oh man is it cute.   He loves it and I just want to eat him up in that uniform.

Homeschool Year 2

We are four weeks into our homeschool year.  So far I am really happy with the curriculum we are using.  Both boys seem to be thriving and enjoying it.  It definitely takes lots of time and energy, but I feel overwhelmingly grateful that I have the freedom to teach my children at home.
Pictures from the first day of school.

Bug has been taking to homeschool really well this year.  It seems he has outgrown his whining and is much more willing to cooperate and work hard for longer periods of time.  He keeps me on my toes.
I am glad Bear didn't want to go to Preschool this year. I was really close to signing him up for one and it has been nice to have him home with us and not have to worry about rushing him to school and picking him up again.  He has been surprising me with the things he knows and I feel like I am understanding his talents and abilities better.
On a side note, Belle started talking this week!!!  She has been a good communicator for a long time, just not with actual words.  For the past 6 or 7 days she has been surprising me with words like purple, sorry, stop!, and " I'm a baby."  I have loved that she has been so tiny and babyish for so long, but am happy to see her learning and growing.  My heart is happy.

Fun Friends and Good Times

We have been in our new place for just over a month now, and it feels like home.  Members of our ward have been so friendly and kind to us, and I got called to serve in Young Women's, which I am very happy about.
There is a city park nearby that has fifty cent rides.

We were also able to try out two spray parks before the closed for the season.
