Sonic The Hedgehog

Bear has been obsessed with Sonic the Hedgehog.  If you call him anything but Sonic, he will say, "No! I just Sonic the Hedgehog."  He was ecstatic when he opened his pjs and found they were blue just like Sonic and that his slippers were red, just like Sonic's shoes (lucky buy on my part, since they had been purchased almost a year ago).
I usually like to make several Christmas presents, but with a newborn I knew that wouldn't happen this year.  I only got around to making one gift....Bear's very own Sonic the Hedgehog.  He was extremely excited when he opened it and rushed it into his crib so he could sleep with it.

The Wreath that Keeps on Giving

I made this wreath last Christmas Season using THIS tutorial.  It was adorned with a green fabric braid which was then  switched to this pink one for Valentine's Day.
When March rolled around I spray painted it green and reused the braid from Christmas for St. Patty's Day.  Easter followed and the pink braid was then rehung.
Now that Fall is in the air and Halloween is soon approaching our wreath is Pumpkin Orange.
If you want to make one, now is the perfect time to start collecting your acorns!

Acorn Wreath

A couple of girls and I have been getting together once a week to craft together.  This wreath took a looong time...and a lot of hot glue, but I am happy with the results.  Once again the tutorial for this is courtesy of MADE

Crayon Roll

Here is a crayon roll I made for Bug using the tutorial found at Skip to My Lou. Okay, so I actually didn't use the pattern because I despise patterns unless absolutely necessary, but here's the link if you're a pattern fan.

Bear's Blue Birthday Bash

We had such a fun time celebrating Bear's Birthday and managed to fit 10 families in our little place! That was a success for sure.
Here is my handsome boy on his First Birthday.
Some of the party guests. The food: including meat balls, artichoke dip, and TNT cheese salsa. So glad there are left overs. :)
Party Favors. Have you guys ever seen these candies before? They are shaped like M&M's, but are Almond Joy and York Peppermint Patty flavored. Mmmm good, and the perfect colors for the party.
Family!
Okay, so I tried to attempt a non-fondant cake this time, and I will NOT try it again until I take my next cake class. Making frosting look smooth is a lot harder than I thought.

Cupcake Party Shirts
Happy Birthday Banner.

It Feels Like Home

One of the things I have felt so grateful for is that we felt at home almost immediately after moving to Nebraska this past August. We feel so blessed to live in a place where we feel safe and happy. But no home is truly a home without a wreath. :) So here is my attempt at a "no-sew wreath" found on the first session of "So You Think You're Crafty"
I love how it goes perfectly with the quilt my mom made for us when we got married.

The Mailbox

Using the tutorial found here, http://giverslog.com/?p=2531, I made this mailbox for Bug to use for "The 14 Days of Valentine's Day". Each Day from the 1st of February until the 14th he received something from the mailman. He would wait anxiously for the flag to be up so that he could see what the mailman had brought that day. It was a fun tradition to start, but I will have to start getting more creative for next year when Bear can enjoy it too so that it doesn't get too costly for "The Mailman".

Christmas Card Bulletin Board

One of my favorite things about the Holiday season is sending and receiving Christmas cards. When January rolls around I always cringe as I throw them away. So this year I came up with a way to enjoy them. Now I will have these lovely faces smiling at me as I cook and wash dishes all year long.
